Onda Wall Plate — Despard, Three Openings

Cavetto House

NOT IMPLEMENTED — no 3D model yet. Will carry three stacked Despard openings in the traced wave silhouette once modeled. Price shown is a target, not final.

1

A wave perimeter traced from an actual reference photograph — every point independently calibrated, not mirrored or parametrically generated.

Openings and screw positions stay in standard spec, so it still fits a standard box.

Made to order, printed individually in the finish you choose.

Size

81.9 × 132.3 × 5 mm

Openings

Three, 23.42 × 17.86 mm, 23.8 mm pitch

Screws

#6-32, 96.84 mm apart (3-13/16 in, strap mount)

Fits

Despard / interchangeable modules, three to a gang

Why Onda

72 points

Ray-cast from the screw centroid at 5° steps — the perimeter is a literal trace, not a parametric curve

5.0 mm

Face thickness, vs. ~2.3 mm for a stock plastic plate

60.325 mm

Standard device screw spacing — no non-standard fit

The wave perimeter is calibrated to real-world datums (device-mount pitch and gang pitch), not to the photograph's implied scale — so every opening lands in spec even though the outer shape is fully organic.

Materials & Specifications

Matte PETGprinted at 0.16 mm layers, front edge eased into a 0.5 mm back chamfer matching the Portico family

Screw fitstandard #6-32 wall plate screws; head countersunk to sit flush

PETG rather than PLA because it does not soften in a warm room or go brittle with age.

How to Use

01

Cut the power

Turn off the circuit breaker for the switch or outlet you are replacing. Confirm dead with a non-contact voltage tester before touching any wires.

02

Remove the old plate

Unscrew the existing cover plate (usually one or two screws). Set the old plate and screws aside — you won't need them.

03

Seat the new plate

Position the Cavetto plate over the device. The opening should sit cleanly over the toggle slot, rocker face, or outlet slots. No trimming or adjustment needed.

04

Drive the screws

Use the original wall plate screws (#6-32). Tighten finger-snug, then one quarter-turn with a screwdriver. The countersink is designed for a flush, flat finish — do not overtighten.

05

Restore power

Turn the circuit breaker back on. The plate is complete — no painting, priming, or finishing required.

Pro Tip

If the plate rocks slightly, the device itself may be crooked in the box. Loosen the device's mounting screws, straighten by eye, and retighten before seating the plate.

Sustainability

Made to order means no overstock. Nothing is printed until you order it.
